San Pedro received amazing mentorship and support from the following awards and organizations: He is an inaugural Gates Millennium Scholar, a Cultivating New Voices Among Scholars of Color Fellow, a Ford Dissertation Fellow, a Concha Delgado Gaitan Council of Anthropology in Education Presidential Fellow, and a Spencer Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2023, he won the Distinguished Teaching Award in the College of Education and Human Ecology at Ohio State University.
